There are over two thousand Primary and Secondary schools (High Schools) in New South Wales, a number of which VS Oceania work with. Study-tour students can choose from a select number of these schools within Sydney and regional locations and are also given the opportunity to select a school that offers a range of academic subjects and special facilities that suit their learning needs.
VS Oceania coordinates cultural exchange programs of varying lengths for visiting school students of all ages. These programs provide students with the opportunity to attend local schools, homestay accommodation with an Australian family, and experience the unique way of life that Australia country has to offer. As a mutual benefit, local Australian students are also provided with the opportunity of making friends with Japanese students and experiencing a taste of Japanese culture without having to leave Australia.
Typically these programs consist of ESL (English as a Second Language) classes in the mornings (Monday - Friday) with afternoon sessions made up of a combination of integration and activities. Students spend their weekends with their homestay family, and we encourage them to experience and enjoy a glimpse of the Australian way of life.
The integration component at the host school, as well as being a highlight of the program for the Japanese school, is also an eye-opening experience for members of the Australian school community. Many school administrators realise the importance of such cultural exchange, in promoting a culturally accepting school community, particularly in today's global society.
In addition to Study Tours, we also provide Guardianship and Homestay Placement.
